Prof. V. V. Subba Rao is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University – Gurajada, Vizianagaram (JNTU-GV). He assumed office as Vice-Chancellor on 13 October 2025.
He is a distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in teaching, academic administration, examinations, institutional governance, international university relations, and technical education.
Prof. V. V. Subba Rao obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and subsequently pursued a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Hoseo University, South Korea.
Throughout his academic and administrative career, he has served in several important positions, including Registrar, Rector, Principal, Director of Foreign Universities Relations, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Officer In-Charge of Examinations, Officer In-Charge of Hostels, and Convener of AP EAPCET-2025.
His extensive academic and administrative experience and leadership in technical education continue to contribute to the academic development, institutional governance, research advancement, and overall growth of JNTU-GV.

His experience encompasses university administration, academic governance, examinations, student affairs, international university relations, institutional leadership, and engineering education.
His service as Registrar of JNTUK, Principal of the University College of Engineering, Director of Foreign Universities Relations, Rector of JNTUK, and Convener of AP EAPCET-2025 has provided him with extensive experience in managing academic and administrative functions at institutional and university levels.
As Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-GV, he provides academic and administrative leadership to the University with emphasis on quality technical education, research, innovation, institutional development, academic excellence, and effective university governance.
